On my last day teaching English in Spain, the art teacher at my school allowed the students to draw me pictures as a parting gift. It was such a cute gesture and I still have all of the pictures stored in my memory box. Every now and then, when I am deep cleaning my room, I will get distracted and start looking through the stack. It always makes me smile and miss my students so I thought it would be fun to share some with you all!
Now let me preface this by saying I'm honestly not sure what guidance the teacher gave the students or if she gave them free rein. There were a lot of very random things drawn unrelated to me but they were consistent from student to student so I can't tell if they were following the teacher's instructions or inspired by each other. Either way, the random items paired with the A1 drawing skills were the highlight of my last day in Spain! Here are a few of the drawings I received.
First up, I received this magnificent drawing of a dragon in a really unfortunate situation. I love that there seems to be a submarine in the sky along with the plane up top, a very creative touch. And is the dragon pooping that bomb or was it thrown at him???
I got a lot of basketball and American football drawings and not once did I mention liking sports so I'm not sure why...Anyway, the self-portrait, great spelling skills, and sweet message up top are wonderful!
See, football again! But look at that technique though! How many points is that worth?
I also got a lot of BEAUTIFUL portraits of me. A true masterpiece! Ponytail on fleek. And who you know got jeans with 3 pockets in the front???
We've got the American, Spanish, and British representation on this one. Why the UK flag? The better question is why not???
This is one of my favorites. It radiates chaotic good LOL! I legitimately don't understand anything happening but I like it!
This is another one of my favorites because how adorable are the unicorn and panda?! And everything under a rainbow. This picture screams happiness and sunshine!
And here we have a beautiful drawing of me and my student. I think my hair and skin color may be just a little bit off though...just a little bit...
I got a couple of Mayan pyramids and a couple of alligators as well. This was a great mashup of the two. A sign of good luck for sure.
Beautiful picture. But the chances of you finding me pulling an American flag suitcase are slim to none. Actually, definitely none.
A perfect picture. That's all I have to say.
Abstract art at its finest! So much room for interpretation with this one.
I look great in this picture, a true artist! But I really don't understand the British references. Apparently, the Shard is the tallest building in the UK. It's got office space, residential apartments, multiple restaurants, a public viewing gallery, and the Shangri-La Hotel. Seems pretty cool but I'm starting to think they don't realize I'm not British lol.
Luci's self-portrait is on point but I'm curious, do y'all think that is a lion or the sun? I'm not so sure.
And last for today but certainly not least, the muffin on the hill! This kid is going places. Maybe to art school. Maybe to a bakery. Honestly, both sound like great options!
I have plenty more pictures from my students and I enjoyed looking back and sharing some of them today. If you are interested in seeing some more, definitely let me know in the comments!

Hope this served as your sign to step outside of your comfort zone and teach abroad! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! And if that wasn't enough, I also have a referral link that will save you an extra $200! (I wish I would've had one of these before my trip, $700 to cover housing, meals, placement assistance, etc. while living abroad for 3 months is honestly a steal! That would normally only cover 1 week in a hotel lol.)
And of course, there's no hiding that there is a benefit for me too if you use my referral link because if you get $200, I also get $200. Win-win lol. However, I'm not in it for the money. I genuinely did enjoy my experience and would recommend it a thousand times!
