I don’t know about you but I really enjoy hearing about other people’s travel plans. It gives me an idea of what to expect for upcoming blogs, vlogs, and pictures which is exciting! It also gives me ideas for future destinations that I hadn’t previously considered but are now worthy of looking into and adding to the list (especially since I don’t always have fully developed travel plans and am typically pretty open). So I figured since I’m currently planning my year, why not share with you all! So far I have 4 destinations planned, 2 of which were based on cancelled 2020 plans and 2 that are birthday celebrations for family members. I could definitely see myself trying to squeeze at least 1 or 2 more trips throughout the year but I have limited PTO and prefer to be home with my family Christmas week so we’ll see. Of course everything is also dependent on what Ms. Rona brings us in 2021. But I’m definitely ready so without further ado…
My Travel Plans
St Lucia - July 2021
My aunt has been talking about doing a 40th birthday girls trip for a while now and 2021 is the year! Originally we were supposed to visit Dubai but there were a few concerns surrounding the coronavirus, including consistently breathing everyone’s circulated air for 20+ hours (especially since everyone would be taking masks off consistently to eat). We decided to find a destination that is closer in but still feels...not basic...if that makes any sense lol. St. Lucia was a bucket list destination for a couple of us so that’s the plan! I’m super excited because I definitely look for nature views when traveling and St. Lucia is gorgeous in pictures!
Colombia - September 2021
My roommate and I signed up to join a group trip to Cartagena through Chidi Ashley Travels last September but that trip ended up getting cancelled. We transferred our funds to participate this September instead and I am overly excited! I have been following Chidi Ashley basically since she started her company early 2019 and have been wanting to join a trip since. She curates luxury trips for women all over the world to come together as a group of strangers turned friends as they explore destinations across the globe. She plans the full itinerary, provides transportation, chooses beautiful accommodations, and even hires professional photographers to ensure all of the participants are living their best lives and I’m here for it! Group trips are an especially good option if you have nobody to travel with and don’t want to go alone. This will be my first group trip so I’ll be sure to update you all with a review later this year.
Texas - October 2021
I am currently hoping to visit Texas with one of my cousins for her birthday. I am thinking either Houston or Austin depending on my friend’s availability. One of my friends whom I haven't seen since 2018 currently lives in Austin and I really want to see her again so if she will be home during my visit, I’ll visit Austin. If she is not, we may visit Houston instead. I have to do more research to figure out which is better. Let me know if you have a preference!
The Bahamas - November 2021
My roommate and I were also supposed to be cruising to the Bahamas for her birthday this past June but as you can guess, COVID happened. So we are planning to go this November instead. Our cruise will be stopping in Nassau and CocoCay. It’s a small 3 day trip but any vacation makes me happy!
Travel Goals
Los Angeles
Although I was born in California, I never really had the chance to experience it. I want to visit quite a few cities in California but if possible, I think I’d like to start with LA. I’d love to hike to the Hollywood Sign, window shop on Rodeo drive, hang out at the Santa Monica Pier, and live my best life on Hollywood Boulevard. Maybe I’ll plan for this within the next few months….
Canada
I was originally looking into Canada for both last July and this January but I’m pretty sure their borders are still closed anyway. Although it's not an official plan, I am now interested in going and could definitely see myself trying to squeeze a trip in during a long weekend or something. I really want to see Niagara Falls! I guess we’ll see if I end up visiting this year.
